16-Year-Old Launches Better Beef Smashburger Food Truck, Inspiring College Station Community
At just 16 years old, Evan Morrison Jr. has become the co-owner of Better Beef Smashburger, a food truck in College Station, Texas, that is already creating waves. Morrison, a home-schooled student with an entrepreneurial spirit, has long dreamed of running his own business.
Reflecting on his motivations, he explained, “I’ve always wanted to work for myself because I saw my parents do it.” His parents supported his ambition, and with their help, Morrison turned his vision into a reality.
“About a year ago, I asked my parents if, or I told them with the idea that I wanted to own a food truck, and they said, if you want to do that, we’ll help you,” he shared.
Better Beef Smashburger had its grand opening on September 27 and has been drawing a loyal crowd since then.
Operating from The Ranch Harley-Davidson on Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and then at Four Downs Sports Bar from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturdays, the food truck has quickly become a community hotspot.
Local residents like Garry Rand are excited to see such young entrepreneurial talent emerging in their area. “That’s fantastic, and I hope that’s what we look forward to in America in the future,” Rand remarked.
Another resident, Dino Arellano, was drawn to the truck to show his support, sharing, “I was like, I wanna go support that young guy.”
Morrison’s venture is more than just a business; it’s an inspiration for other young people considering entrepreneurship. He hopes Better Beef Smashburger will inspire his peers to follow their dreams, noting, “Maybe this will show them they can do it too.”
He acknowledges that running a business is hard work but encourages others to take the leap. “Just go for it. It’s hard work, but it’ll be worth it,” he said, reflecting a maturity and resilience that resonate with both customers and fellow entrepreneurs.
