Deer Meat Donations Needed for East Tennessee Helene Victims

The Tennessee Wildlife Federation (TWF) is calling on deer hunters to aid victims of Hurricane Helene in East Tennessee by donating deer meat.

According to the federation, there is a significant need for meat protein at food banks and shelters helping families and service members involved in recovery efforts.

“As East Tennesseans are recovering in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, food banks and shelters are in desperate need of meat protein they can provide to food trucks ready to cook and serve those families and the service men and women helping with recovery efforts,” the TWF said in a statement.

Several Hunters for the Hungry processors have stepped up to meet this demand. For instance, H&H Market in Elizabethton has already processed 14 deer donations, providing over 2,000 servings of protein to communities impacted by the storm.

Hunters in East Tennessee can donate deer at no cost to help those in need.
