Doctor Reveals the Ideal Time for Intermittent Fasting to Maximize Health Benefits

Intermittent fasting has taken the health world by storm, touted for its weight loss and overall health benefits. But with so much advice out there, it can be confusing to figure out the right approach.

Dr. Pedi Mirdamadi, a popular health expert on TikTok with 447,000 followers, recently shared his top tips on how to do intermittent fasting correctly in a viral video.

Dr. Mirdamadi begins by addressing one of the most common questions—what can you drink while fasting? He reassures that water, tea, and black coffee are all fair game, as long as you avoid adding sugar or cream.

In addition to beverages, the doctor highlights which supplements you can take during fasting. “B vitamins, electrolytes, minerals, and Omega 3s are encouraged and beneficial during intermittent fasting,” he explains.

However, he warns against bone broth and protein powder, as they will break your fast.

When it comes to the ideal fasting window, Dr. Mirdamadi says research shows that the sweet spot lies between 14 and 16 hours of fasting.

“Push it up to the 14/16-hour mark and eat only when you feel like you’re hungry,” he advises, emphasizing the importance of listening to your body’s hunger signals.

Followers have praised his clear, practical advice, though some remain curious about specific details. When asked if milk in coffee is acceptable, Dr. Mirdamadi was firm: “No, because milk has calories.”

Intermittent fasting, when done correctly, can be a game-changer for many, offering a host of benefits with a simple approach to timing and consistency.
