Julie Anna Potts Named Most Impactful Woman of 2024 by Women’s Meat Industry Network
The Women’s Meat Industry Network (WMIN) has recognized Julie Anna Potts, president and CEO of the Meat Institute, as the Most Impactful Woman of 2024.
The award, presented at the annual Protein PACT Summit, highlights her exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing women in the meat and poultry industry.
“WMIN is now over 1,700 members strong and growing,” said Potts. “To be recognized by these peers is beyond meaningful to me. I am grateful for this special award and feel privileged to work with such dedicated and professional women and men across the meat and poultry industry every day.”
Potts has played a crucial role in promoting consumer trust in animal protein through the Protein PACT initiative, which unites industry partners to pursue sustainable development goals.
Her leadership also led to the creation of the Emerging Leaders Program, which focuses on career growth for a diverse group of future industry leaders, and the establishment of the Meat Institute’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
“She is very deserving of this award,” said Sharon Beals, executive director of WMIN. “Her efforts are having a positive impact on the meat industry’s ability to operate and successfully provide safe, nutritious products to the world’s growing population.”
Other finalists for the award include Ozlem Worpel of Seaboard Foods, Drea Starch of Niman Ranch, Kathy Moore of Perdue Farms, and Chelsey Kaiser of Clemens Food Group.
