According to Edwards, sous vide is the gold standard for reheating steak. “Sous vide is probably the best way to reheat steak, as it reheats the meat slowly in its own juices,” she explains.
This method locks in flavor and moisture, ensuring your steak tastes as close to fresh as possible.
Other Reheating Options: Oven or Frying Pan
If you do not have a sous vide setup, your oven or stovetop can work wonders. Edwards suggests reheating steak on a wire rack over a baking sheet at 250°F for the oven method. “This prevents it from drying out too much,” she says.
For stovetop reheating, allow your steak to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Heat a frying pan over medium heat with neutral oil like avocado oil. Sear each side for about two minutes. However, do not rush the process by turning up the heat, as this can lead to dry, overcooked meat.
