Southbury police arrested Matthew Kimbrough, 63, of Waterbury, after he was caught stealing over $600 worth of meat and seafood from the ShopRite on Main Street South.
Officers responded Friday afternoon to an active theft and found Kimbrough sitting in the passenger seat of a car attempting to flee.
The investigation confirmed the stolen goods valued at more than $600.
Kimbrough faces fifth-degree larceny charges. He was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 3.
