Choice boxed beef slipped $1.51 on Monday to $398.53, marking its eighth straight decline and a total drop of $17.48 over that stretch.
Select beef edged higher by $0.36 to $378.80, narrowing the Choice–Select spread to $19.73 on 101 loads.
The picture across primal cuts was mixed. Ribs inched up to $634.19, while chucks eased to $357.42.
Rounds fell to $346.26, loins dipped to $475.18, briskets retreated to $315.96, and both plates and flanks posted small losses, closing at $262.92 and $231.31 respectively.
After more than a week of steady declines, the market is signaling pressure on higher-end cuts while lower-priced selections hold firmer—an echo of shifting consumer demand in a cooling economy.
