Beef Counts Food Distribution Set for Yakima, Toppenish, and Ellensburg

Next week, families in Yakima, Toppenish, and Ellensburg can receive boxes of food and ground beef at mobile drive-through events as part of the Beef Counts initiative.

This program, a partnership between Washington’s Beef Community and Second Harvest, is in its 15th year of helping families in need.

Event Details and Registration

The December food distribution, open to the public, requires pre-registration for up to 300 families per location.

Each family must register with a unique email address and bring a digital or printed ticket for smoother check-in.

Distribution is limited to two families per vehicle, and families unable to attend are asked to cancel their registrations to allow others to participate.

For those without pre-registration, leftover food will be available at noon on a first-come, first-served basis. The distribution boxes will include fresh produce, perishable groceries, and chubs of ground beef.

Pickup dates and locations are as follows:

  • Toppenish: Wednesday, Dec. 4, 10 a.m. to noon, Legends Casino Hotel, 580 Fort Road
  • Yakima: Thursday, Dec. 5, 10 a.m. to noon, State Fair Park Gate 15, 1301 S. Fair Ave.
  • Ellensburg: Friday, Dec. 6, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Yakima Valley Event Center, 901 E. Seventh Ave.

Community Support and Year-Round Efforts

Beef Counts is supported by Washington beef farmers, ranchers, and the Agri Beef Company, which fundraise year-round to provide beef through Second Harvest’s Mobile Markets.

Agri Beef’s Toppenish processing plant packages and ships the donated beef for distribution.
