Three-burner gas grills are the workhorses of the outdoor cooking world. They offer a lot of grilling space and the ability to BBQ multiple things at once, which comes in handy when you're entertaining a crowd.

The Char-Broil Classic 360 is a three-burner grill that has received rave customer reviews.

Always interested in trying out a new grill, I decided to see what all the fuss was about and used this grill over the past six months.

Here is what I have learned.

What is the Char-Broil Classic Series 3-Burner Gas Grill?

The Char-Broil Classic is a 3-burner gas grill that uses propane as its fuel source. It has 360 square inches of grilling surface, enough to cook for a small gathering of family and friends.

This low-cost grill also features metal side shelves for added prep space, a side burner, a temperature gauge, and an ignition system that makes it easy to get started.

Pros
  • The three adjustable burners
  • Extra burner is perfect for cooking sides or sauces
  • The affordable price makes this grill a good value
  • The compact size works well for small outdoor living areas
Cons
  • No built-in temperature gauge

Benefits and Highlights

When you bring home the Char-Broil Classic 360 3-Burner Grill, here is what you can expect:

1. Ample Grilling Space

A close up image of an open grill

One of the best things about this grill is that the cooking grates offer plenty of space.

The three burners heat 360 square inches of cooking surface, which is enough to accommodate up to 15 burgers at once.

And this does not even include the warming rack.

I love to entertain and have friends over for cookouts, so this was a huge selling point. I can now cook everything at once and don't have to worry about running out of space.

2. Three Adjustable Burners

The three stainless steel burners on the Classic 360 are adjustable, so you can create different temperature zones when cooking.

And with 30,000 BTUs of cooking power, you can be sure that your food will cook evenly and quickly.

I use this feature to put thinner items like hot dogs on the outer edge where it is not as hot and then move them to the center when the hamburgers are almost done cooking.

This way, everything will be ready to eat simultaneously.

3. Easy to Assemble

Another feature of this grill is that it is easy to put together. All of the necessary hardware is included in the box, and the assembly instructions are simple to follow.

All told, I was able to get this grill up and running in less than two hours. That includes the time it took to read the instructions and run out to get a propane tank.

4. Simple Ignition

A close up view of an ignition of a grill

There is nothing worse than trying to light a grill and failing. The Classic 360 3-Burner Grill features an easy-to-use and reliable ignition that will have your fire going in no time.

I find the piezo ignition mechanism generates a spark that is hot enough to light the gas on the first try.

I simply need to turn the gas knob to the "light" position and push the igniter button - then my grill is ready to go.

5. Affordable Cost

The Char-Broil Classic is one of the most affordable three-burner gas grills on the market.

This makes it a good fit for anyone who is on a budget but still wants to have the same quality as the other systems in the Char-Broil line.

I am willing to pay money to get all the features and accessories I want, but I also like to get a good deal. This grill offers a solid combination of all the cooking features you need and affordability.

6. Side Shelf and Burner

Two different sides of a grill

The Classic 360 3-Burner Grill also has a metal side shelf and burner. The shelf is an excellent spot to keep your grilling tools or prepare side dishes while the main course is cooking.

And the side burner is ideal for the outdoor cooking of side dishes or sauces. It puts out 8,000 BTUs of power and has its own control knob.

I find the side shelf very helpful when cooking for a crowd. I can use it to keep my plates and utensils organized so that everything is within reach.

7. Solid Construction

Despite its low price, the Char-Broil Classic is a well-built grill. Its porcelain-coated steel lid and firebox stand up to the elements, and it comes with three stainless steel burners that are rust-resistant and durable.

I appreciate that the porcelain-coated steel grates prevent food from sticking and are easy to clean.

This applies to the main cooking grates and the 170-square-inch warming rack (which I use for toasting buns and keeping my food warm).

8. Mobility

A close up image of the wheels of a grill

The Classic 360 3-Burner Gas Grill also features two wheels that make it easy to move around. This is helpful if you want to change up your grilling location or if you need to store the grill away for the winter.

Since I pull the grill in and out of my garage with every use, I find the wheels very useful.

The wheels make it much easier to move the grill around, and I don't have to worry about damaging my patio or deck.

9. Warranty

The Classic 360 3-Burner Gas Grill comes with a five-year warranty on the burners, which is longer than most other gas grills on the market. The firebox is guaranteed for two years and all other parts for a year.

I have not had to use the warranty because my grill works well, but the length of the guarantee shows that the company stands behind its product.

"Performance means everything. Whether you only grill occasionally or light up those burners every other day, you want your grill to cook the way you expect it to."

What Can Be Improved?

An image of three same grills

Although the Classic 360 3-Burner Gas Grill is a solid grilling option, a few things could make it a better grill.

1. Needs a Propane Tank

This grill requires a propane tank, which is not included. You will need to purchase one separately.

2. No Built-in Temperature Gauge

This grill does not have a built-in temperature gauge or thermometer, so it's challenging to know when the food is cooked through.

Who Should Use the Char-Broil Classic 360?

The Classic Series 3-Burner Gas Grill is a good choice for those looking for a low-price and durable grill.

It's also a good option for those who want a basic propane grill that still has useful features without breaking the bank.

Who Shouldn't Use the Char-Broil Classic Series 3-Burner Grill?

If you're looking for a grill with all the bells and whistles, this is not it. This grill is also not ideal for those who want a built-in temperature gauge or want to smoke meat as well as grill it.

Where to Buy This Grill?

Char-Broil products, including the 3-Burner Gas Grill, are available at major retailers.

You can also purchase it directly from the manufacturer on their website. And, of course, the most convenient option for many people is to order it through Amazon.

This grill has a higher price than the Char-Broil, but it also has double side tables and a 12,000 BTU side burner. Unlike the Char-Broil, it has an external temperature gauge.
