Hackenmueller’s Meat Market in Robbinsdale Under New Ownership, Continuing Legacy

Last Updated On: April 23, 2025

Hackenmueller’s Meat Market, a beloved staple in Robbinsdale, is now under new ownership. Ande St. Michael and Dustan Posch officially took the reins on April 1, ushering the century-old business into the future while honoring its longstanding legacy.

“It feels incredible to take over a business that’s been such an important part of Robbinsdale and the surrounding areas,” St. Michael told CCX News.

“Gordy [Lindenfelser] has left us some very big shoes to fill.” Lindenfelser, who ran the market for over 45 years, bought it in 1979 from Herbert and Harold Hackenmueller.

For customers like Bill Donald, who traveled from out of town, the store’s historical significance runs deep. “I grew up in north Minneapolis, and my grandparents and parents shopped here,” Donald shared. “It’s the best meat market in the country. Always fresh, always tasty, and really, really good food.”

After a year-long search for new owners, Lindenfelser found the right fit in St. Michael and Posch, who are committed to maintaining the market’s high standards.

“Customers expect a certain level of quality when they walk in, and we plan to keep that tradition alive,” St. Michael said. “Same cuts, same quality, same exceptional customer service.”

Posch, a longtime butcher and former employee of Hackenmueller’s, is focusing on meat-cutting and operations in the back of the store. “Helping customers and making sure they get exactly what they need for their meals is what it’s all about,” he said.

Meanwhile, St. Michael will handle business administration and the deli counter, with plans to introduce seasonal products to the meat selection.

Despite these additions, the core of the business will remain unchanged. “What makes us stand out is giving people exactly what they need. We’re excited to continue this tradition for Robbinsdale and its community,” St. Michael added.

As Hackenmueller’s enters a new chapter, its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction remains at the heart of its operations.
