Impossible Foods Lite Plant-Based Beef Gains Second Health Certification, Approved by the ADA
Impossible Foods’ Lite Ground Beef has now received certification from the American Diabetes Association (ADA), marking its second health-related endorsement following the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check Food Certification Program.
This certification aligns with Impossible’s mission to create healthier plant-based options, with the Lite Ground Beef providing a leaner alternative to traditional meat products.
This plant-based ground beef substitute is crafted from soybeans, sunflower oil, and yeast, offering 21 grams of protein per serving with 75% less saturated fat than lean beef.
Additionally, it is free of cholesterol and enriched with essential nutrients like fiber, iron, B vitamins, zinc, and potassium.
Sherene Jagla, Impossible’s Chief Demand Officer, commented, “While we’re doubling down on efforts to champion the craveability of our products, we remain really proud of our nutrition story, especially with our more health-forward products like Impossible Lite Beef.”
The ADA Better Choices for Life Program certification indicates that Impossible’s Lite Ground Beef meets the association’s nutrition standards, which are reviewed by experts in nutrition and science.
According to the ADA, certified products must meet specific requirements for nutrient content. Likewise, the American Heart Association’s endorsement reflects that the product is low in total fat, saturated fat, and sodium, and rich in beneficial nutrients.
This recognition for Impossible Foods comes amid ongoing scrutiny from some media sources, which label plant-based meat alternatives as overly processed or lacking in health benefits.
Impossible Foods addresses these concerns through a new Health Hub on its website, aiming to debunk misconceptions about plant-based products.
As consumers increasingly seek out healthier options, Impossible Foods continues to stand out, both for its commitment to taste and for meeting stringent health criteria.
