YuShang Food, a South Carolina-based company, has recalled around 4,589 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products due to potential Listeria contamination.

These items, produced between October 21 and October 27, come with “use by” dates spanning August 21 to August 27, 2025. The recall affects nine products labeled with either “P-46684” or “EST. M46684” within the USDA inspection mark.
They were distributed to retail outlets nationwide and were also available for online purchase.

Understanding Listeria Risks
Listeria monocytogenes, the bacteria responsible for listeriosis, thrives in damp environments and can withstand refrigeration, making it particularly challenging to control.
The infection poses severe risks for young children, elderly individuals, those with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women. Infected pregnant women can experience miscarriages, stillbirths, or serious infections in newborns.
Symptoms in healthy individuals may include fever, headaches, stiffness, nausea, and abdominal discomfort. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that Listeria is a leading cause of foodborne deaths in the U.S., causing roughly 1,600 illnesses and 260 fatalities annually.
Consumers with any of the recalled products are encouraged to take immediate action to ensure safety, while YuShang works with FSIS to manage the recall.
