Waterford Police Request Community Assistance in Identifying Meat Theft Suspect
On October 23, 2024, a suspect allegedly stole $73 worth of dinner meats from the local Stop and Shop in Waterford, prompting police to seek the community’s help in identifying the individual involved.
According to the Waterford Police Department, the suspect entered the store, selected the meats, and exited without making payment. Surveillance footage captured the suspect entering the passenger side of a vehicle, the license plate of which has been identified.
Police outlined their investigative process when a crime involves a vehicle with a visible license plate: the plate number is recorded, checked through their system, and follow-up investigations are conducted with the vehicle’s owner.
