Amarillo Beef Project Receives City Council Extension to Continue Development

Producer Owned Beef LLC, a Texas-based beef processing venture, recently gained an extension from the Amarillo City Council to move forward with its new facility.

The council has extended the deadline for obtaining building permits and a certificate of occupancy from May 2027 to December 2027.

Producer Owned Beef LLC, led by cattle producers and seasoned processing experts, aims to boost the local economy and the beef industry. With financial backing from the Texas Enterprise Fund amounting to $12.32 million, along with up to $11.1 million in incentives from the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, the project is poised to significantly impact Amarillo. Once completed, the facility is expected to employ 1,600 workers and process around 3,000 head of cattle daily.

This extension reflects the commitment of both the city and the company to ensuring the project is completed successfully, providing economic and agricultural benefits to the region.
