The secret to those Chicago sandwiches is the combination of sweet and savory flavors of the steak sauce on top.

The Flavor Of Chicago Sweet Steak Sauce

Chicago sweet steak sauce is a unique blend of sweet and savory flavors. The brown sugar and paprika give it a slight sweetness, while the dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce adds a touch of savoriness.

The end result is a delicious sauce that is heartier than ketchup but not as thick as barbecue sauce. It has some of the smoky flavors of BBQ sauce and some of the heat of Chicago's famed "mild sauce."
