‘Ringside for Riley’ Combines Cattle Showmanship with a Cause at Hoosier Beef Congress
The Hoosier Beef Congress is set to host the Ringside for Riley fundraiser, an innovative event blending the competitive spirit of cattle showmanship with the heartwarming mission of supporting pediatric healthcare.
Scheduled for Friday, December 6, at 1 p.m. in Indianapolis, Indiana, this event aims to raise funds for Riley Hospital for Children through a fun and meaningful twist on traditional cattle showmanship.
A Child’s Vision to Give Back
The idea behind Ringside for Riley came from 11-year-old Cadley Boocher, a young cattle show enthusiast who has a deeply personal connection to Riley Hospital. Born with a rare heart defect, Cadley has undergone multiple surgeries and received life-saving care at Riley.
“Without the help of the doctors at Riley, I wouldn’t be here today,” Cadley shared. “I love showing cattle and want to give back to the hospital that helps kids like me get better so they have the chance to do things they love, too!”
How the Fundraiser Works
The event invites adults to step into the show ring, showcasing their cattle-handling skills in friendly competition. Participants can be nominated for $5 or opt out with a $20 “buy-out” fee.
Nominations are open prior to the event at Indianabeef.org or on-site during the Congress. Proceeds from entry fees, sponsorships, and donations will directly benefit Riley Hospital, supporting critical care, medical research, and community programs for children facing serious health challenges.
Brian Shuter, Executive Vice President of the Indiana Beef Cattle Association, expressed the significance of the event: “The support of our industry, participants, sponsors, and spectators will make a direct impact on the lives of children at Riley Hospital, and we are honored to be a part of this effort.”
A Venue for Generosity and Celebration
The Hoosier Beef Congress, renowned as one of the Midwest’s premier youth livestock events, serves as the perfect backdrop for this meaningful initiative.
The event will rally the cattle industry and the broader community to give back while celebrating the traditions of showmanship.
Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana’s largest pediatric healthcare provider, serves over 300,000 patient visits annually, offering specialized care across more than 50 locations.
Recognized as one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals, Riley’s impact stretches far beyond Indiana, touching the lives of countless families.
With the spirit of giving and friendly competition, Ringside for Riley promises to be a memorable event that brings the agricultural community together for a vital cause.
